Abstract

Introduction: Bilateral tubal ligation (BTL) is the most reliable form of permanent surgical contraception for women who have achieved their desired number of children or are limited due to medical conditions. Objectives: Assess the level of knowledge of women on this issue and identify related factors affecting knowledge, and awareness as well as the decision to use the BTL method. Methodology: A cross-sectional descriptive study with a convenient sampling method on 189 married and reproductive-age women who visited Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital from June 2022 to October 2022. The toolkit includes 17 questions divided into 2 areas: knowledge and perception when using this method. The data were processed and analyzed using SPSS 20.0 software. Results: 32% of women have good knowledge and 68% have bad knowledge. The factors related to knowledge include age, education level, occupation, current number of children alive and status of sexually transmitted diseases (p < 0.05). The percentage agreeing to use this method is 66% and disagreeing is 34%. Factors related to women’s decision to have BTL include The benefit of bilateral tubal ligation, the Husband’s consent, the difficulties of giving a decision, fear of surgery, fear of regret, and lack of information about this method (mean > 3). Conclusion: It is necessary to determine the level of knowledge, awareness, and related factors of women of reproductive age about the BTL method, from which there are timely interventions and counseling for women in the antenatal period so they can make the most appropriate decision. Abstract

The demand for well-designed nanostructured composites with enhanced electrochemical performance for lithium-ion batteries electrode materials has been emerging. In order to improve the electrochemical performance of MoS2-based anode materials, MoS2 nanosheets integrated with g-C3N4 (MoS2/g-C3N4 composite) was synthesized by a facile heating treatment from the precursors of thiourea and sodium molybdate at 550 °C under N2 gas flow. The structure and composition of MoS2/g-C3N4 were confirmed by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, infrared spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis and elemental analysis. The lithium storage capability of the MoS2/g-C3N4 composite was evaluated, indicating high capacity and stable cycling performance at 1 C (A·g−1) with a reversible capacity of 1204 mA·h·g−1 for 200 cycles. This result is believed the role of g-C3N4 as a supporting material to accommodate the volume change and improve charge transport for nanostructured MoS2. Additionally, the contribution of the pseudocapacitive effect was also calculated to further clarify the enhancement in Li-ion storage performance of the composite.

Abstract

Tin dioxide (SnO 2 ) nanosheets/graphitic carbon nitride (g-C 3 N 4 ) composite was prepared by a hydrothermal method using mercapto acetic acid as the morphology directing agent in an acidic medium. The as-obtained composite was characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscope, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy; the results of this study show that in the composite, SnO 2 nanosheets with a thickness in the range ∼20–25 nm dispersed well on the g-C 3 N 4 . The lithium storage capability of the composite was investigated. The cycling performance of the composite was improved and is believed to be attributed by the presence of g-C 3 N 4 support.

Abstract

Graphitic g-C3N4-WO3 composite was synthesized simply by decomposing melamine in the presence of WO3 at 500 o C. The obtained material was characterized by XRD, SEM, IR and XPS. The results showed that the as-prepared composite exhibits orthorhombic WO3 phase coated by g-C3N4 and the g-C3N4 decomposed completely with N-doped WO3 remaining at elevated calcination temperatures. The photocatalytic activity of the composite was evaluated by the photodegradation of methylene blue under visible light. An enhancement in photocatalytic activity for the graphitic g-C3N4-WO3 composite compared to the conventional nitrogendoped WO3 was observed, which can be attributed to the presence of g-C3N4 in the material.

Abstract

Visible‐light‐driven photocatalysis has received considerable attention in the environmental treatment in recent years. In this paper, WS2/g‐C3N4 composite photocatalysts with various contents of WS2 and g‐C3N4 were synthesized by a facile method via heating the mixtures of tungstic acid and thiourea, and denoted as nWCN, where n is weight ratio of thiourea to tungstic acid. The composites were characterized by XRD, SEM, EDS, TEM, IR, Raman spectroscopy, XPS, TGA, and UV–vis DRS. The characterizations reveal that the composites contain WS2 nanosheets coated by g‐C3N4 and the relative content of WS2 in the composites decreases with increasing amount of thiourea in the reaction mixtures. All the composites exhibited the better photocatalytic activity in degradation of methylene blue in aqueous solution than the single components, WS2, and g‐C3N4. Abstract

The influence of ammonia on TiO2‐MgFe2O4catalysts synthesized via a hydrolysis and co‐precipitation, followed by calcination at 500°C, was studied. Two different catalysts, TiO2‐MgFe2O4(Am) and TiO2‐MgFe2O4(W), were prepared using Ti‐precursors, which were synthesized by the hydrolysis of Ti‐butoxide with and without ammonia. The resulting TiO2‐MgFe2O4catalysts were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), specific surface area measurements, X‐ray diffraction, and UV‐vis diffuse reflectance techniques. It was revealed that strong electronic coupling exists between the TiO2and MgFe2O4components within the TiO2‐MgFe2O4catalysts. Photocatalytic activity toward Rhodamine B (RhB) was investigated in aqueous solution under visible light irradiation. TiO2‐MgFe2O4(W) was found to be an effective catalyst and had several advantages over TiO2‐MgFe2O4(Am). These results clearly highlight that ammonia had a significant influence on the photocatalytic activity of the TiO2‐MgFe2O4catalysts. Therefore, the results reported herein indicate that TiO2‐MgFe2O4is a green, low‐cost, and highly efficient photocatalyst for environmental remediation.

Abstract

This article presents information on Ho Chi Minh, the most prominent leader of the Vietnamese nationalist movements against French colonialism. Ho Chi Minh epitomized the will of colonized peoples to obtain independence from Western imperialism, but also embodied the paradoxical convergence of two apparently conflicting ideologies: nationalism and Marxism. In 1911, after pursuing an education at the National School in Hue, Ho Chi Minh decided to travel to the West to search for ways to liberate his country, which had been colonized by the French since 1862. Ho Chi Minh's travels were to last him thirty years, but in 1917 he alighted in Paris, a fertile ground for revolutionaries. In 1923, he traveled to Moscow for further Marxist training, and from 1924, he traveled and worked as a Communist revolutionary in various parts of Asia. The French colonial government was at its weakest during the Japanese wartime occupation of Vietnam, and it was in 1941, during the occupation, that Ho Chi Minh returned to Vietnam and established the Viet Minh Front, or the League for the Independence of Vietnam.

Abstract

Indian disciple and personal attendant of the Buddha. There is very little personal information concerning the early life of Ānanda (AH-nuhn-duh). According to Buddhist tradition, since he was born on the day when Siddhārtha Gautama reached enlightenment and became the Buddha, Ānanda, which means “Rejoicing,” was thus named by his elated father. Ānanda belonged to the warrior caste, within the same Śākya tribal confederation as the Buddha, of the Gautama clan in the kingdom of Kapilavastu, now in southern Nepal. He was the Buddha’s first cousin, as his father, King Suklodana, was the younger brother of the Buddha’s father, King Śuddhodana. It is said that Ānanda’s father initially did not want him to become the Buddha’s disciple, and that he thus sought to keep his son from knowing about the Buddha’s presence. Eventually, on encountering the Buddha on the occasion of the Buddha’s return to his father’s kingdom, young Ānanda decided to follow the Buddha, thus growing up within the Saṅgha (the Buddhist community) and later becoming a bhikkhu (monk).
